Welcoming New Residents: Two individuals joined our community from Aasra, emphasizing the importance of ensuring their seamless integration and providing them with the necessary support to thrive within our community
Placement at Flipkart: We celebrate the placement of two transgender individuals at Flipkart, a testament to the efficacy of our skill development and education initiatives in empowering community members through meaningful employment opportunities
Transgender Card Creation: Four transgender cards were successfully applied for during this period, marking progress in documentation and recognition crucial for validating gender identity and ensuring legal recognition.
Helpline Call Update: Over the course of the year, our helpline received 324 calls, covering a spectrum of needs and concerns within the transgender community. These calls ranged from crisis cases and inquiries about shelter homes to queries related to transitioning, employment, mental health, and seeking legal or financial assistance. This data underscores the importance of our ongoing efforts to understand and address the diverse needs of our community effectively
Current Residents: Our community continues to grow and evolve, with a roster of residents comprising individuals like Aryan, Aman, Sourab, Joyal, Vishant, and others. Each resident contributes to the vibrant tapestry of our community, enriching it with their unique experiences and perspectives

The Garima Greh program in Mumbai, initiated in 2021 by the
Throughout the reporting period, Garima Greh admitted 34 transgender individuals and organized numerous activities to enhance their well-being and skills. Highlights include English and MS-CIT courses at Nanavati College, mental health counseling sessions by the Rotary Club, and a video editing workshop at KES College. Celebrations of significant events such as Ambedkar Jayanti, Independence Day, and Ganesh Chaturthi fostered a sense of community and belonging among the residents. Various health and wellness sessions were conducted, including suicide prevention, drug addiction, and monsoon health by Dr. Jayesh Ghodke. Skill development initiatives included online classes covering a range of topics from vision boards and self-introduction to SMART goals, monthly budgeting, and POSH policy. The Make-up and Beauty Batch 2 enrolled 20 candidates, focusing on eye makeup, hairdressing, bridal makeup, and HD makeup techniques. The program successfully placed 20 residents in internships and jobs at prestigious companies such as Lalit Hotel, Concentrix, Godrej Properties, Mahindra Logistics, Tata Steel, POUS Academy, GSK Pharma, and JPMC.
Garima Greh also emphasized mental and physical health through regular check-ups, mental health assessments, and workshops. Celebrations of festivals like Christmas, Diwali, and Republic Day, as well as participation in events like the Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival and Pride March, enriched the residents' cultural and social experiences.
